You're busy. Your minions are howling for food. You need to whip something up much faster. Get started:
  1. Keep Knives Sharp: A sharp knife is an essential tool in the kitchen, but it can be frustrating when they become dull. To keep your knives in top condition, use a honing steel regularly to realign the blade, and sharpen them periodically with a sharpening stone.

  2. Perfect Poached Eggs: Poached eggs can be tricky to get right, but there's a simple trick to help. Before poaching the eggs, add a splash of vinegar to the boiling water. This will help the egg whites set more quickly and firmly, resulting in perfectly poached eggs every time.

  3. Make Your Own Buttermilk: Buttermilk is a staple in many baking recipes, but it's not always easy to find at the store. To make your own, simply mix together 1 cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and it will thicken and curdle, just like buttermilk.

  4. Keep Berries Fresh: Berries are delicate and tend to spoil quickly, but there's a simple way to keep them fresher for longer. Before storing them in the refrigerator, wash and dry them thoroughly, then place them in a paper towel-lined container. The paper towels will absorb any moisture that can cause spoilage, keeping your berries fresh and delicious.

  5. Peel Garlic in a Snap: Peeling garlic can be a time-consuming and messy task, but there's a quick and easy way to do it. Simply place a clove of garlic on a cutting board and smash it with the flat side of a knife. The skin will easily come off, leaving you with peeled garlic ready for cooking.

  6. Quickly Ripen Avocados: If you need ripe avocados but they're still hard, place them in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana. The ethylene gas produced by these fruits will speed up the ripening process, giving you ripe avocados in just a few days.

  7. Clean Your Blender Effortlessly: Cleaning a blender can be a hassle, but there's a simple solution. Simply fill the blender with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then blend for a few seconds. The warm water and soap will loosen any stuck-on food, making it easy to rinse away and leaving your blender sparkling clean.
